is part of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide agricultural network that provides credit and affiliated services to those in agriculture and related industries across the United States.
In support of that mission, the organization currently is accepting applications to the Farm Credit AgEnhancement Grant program. Through the program, grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to help organizations promote awareness of and strengthen agriculture, commercial fishing, and forest products in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Since its inception in 1996, the program has awarded more than a million dollars in grants to organizations across the Northeast.
Eligible projects include those that promote the development of young and new farmers; encourage leadership; develop a greater understanding of agriculture among the general population; recognize the accomplishments of ag leaders; study the economic viability of agriculture; promote interest in the industry; and/or affect agriculture in the Northeast.
See the Farm Credit East website for complete program guidelines, information about previously funded projects, and application instructions.
