Launched in October 2012, offers online access to the Met's print and online publications. MetPublications includes nearly six hundred and fifty titles published (offline or on) since 1964 and eventually could provide access to nearly all the books, bulletins, and journals published by the museum since its founding in 1870. For almost every title, MetPublications provides a description and table of contents, author information, reviews, awards, and links to related Met titles by author and theme. The project is funded by Hunt and Betsy Lawrence.

Visitors to the site can search titles published since 1964, download more than three hundred and fifty out-of-print titles in PDF format at no cost, and order print-on-demand copies of a hundred and forty out-of-print titles. Titles currently in print can be searched and previewed online and are linked to an online store where they can be purchased. Users also can access , which provides links to titles at local libraries, and to the Met's own online library catalogue, . The portal also offers lists of , , , and .
