To engage audiences interested in maternal health issues and encourage activism that improves the lives of girls and women worldwide.
Every Mother Counts is an advocacy and mobilization campaign designed to increase education and support for maternal and child health around the world. The effort was launched in conjunction with the release of No Woman, No Cry, a documentary film produced and directed by Christy Turlington Burns that follows the stories of women in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Guatemala, and the United States who are dealing with high-risk pregnancies. The film addresses problems the women faced while trying to get medical care before, during, and after childbirth.
