To provide for the socioeconomic betterment of the Latino community of California while preserving the pride, values, and heritage of Mexican American culture.
About the Organization:
Founded by Dionicio Morales, MAOF is the largest Latino-oriented family services organization in the United States and provides social services and programs to communities where the need is the greatest. While MAOF's service area now covers Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino, San Diego, Kern, and Monterey counties, the organization continues to pursue its original mission by offering free or low-cost programs and services to socially and/or economically disadvantaged individuals and families.
The organization's services include child care and development, child care centers, state-funded preschools, and Head Start centers. In addition, it provides resource and referral services, alternative payment programs, senior and disabled services, job training and assistance, youth programs, a foodbank, and adult and financial/computer literacy education.
The MAOF Web site features service areas listed by city as well as an interactive map showing the location of its centers. The site also offers information on special events such as national conferences and the MAOF Golf Tournament.
MAOF receives support from corporations, government agencies, private donors, and foundations.
