About the Organization: Founded in 1967 as the Economic Opportunity Committee of Clark County (WA) to administer War on Poverty programs, connects low-income families and children in Southwest Washington to resources and support services at no cost. With the goal of preparing children for kindergarten, empowering families, and strengthening community, the organization also promotes high-quality, developmentally appropriate best practices that focus on the whole child.
Current Programs: EOCF’s programs for children from birth through age five are designed to support family well-being, positive parent-child relationships, parents as their children's first teachers, and families as community leaders and advocates. The organization's ,, and programs work with families to nurture a child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development — with the help of nutritious meals, health screenings, dental care, and classes on parenting and child development, health and nutrition, leadership and advocacy, and financial education. EOCF also sponsors the basketball program for children in grades one through six.
