Weavers Donate Home to Community Foundation of Northeast Florida

The has announced a gift of real estate valued at $4.7 million from former owner J. Wayne Weaver and his wife, Delores Barr Weaver.

The couple's 14,000-square-foot house in the San Jose area of Jacksonville home features a two-story foyer, six bedrooms, six full baths, three powder rooms, and a wooden walkway that leads to a boat dock and gazebo on the St. Johns River. Proceeds from the foundation's sale of the house will be added to the endowment of the Weaver Family Foundation Fund, which provides grants to local nonprofit organizations. The Weavers also will establish a $1 million donor-advised fund at the foundation in the names of the buyers who purchase the property at its listing price of $4.7 million.

"This home holds a special place in our heart, as does Jacksonville," said Delores Barr Weaver. "In giving this property to the community foundation, and hopefully establishing an endowed fund for the buyer, many deserving nonprofits and those they serve will benefit."
