UPS Foundation Awards $7.9 Million for Diversity, Economic Empowerment

The has announced grants totaling more than $7.9 million to organizations working to advance economic empowerment, education, inclusion, and mentorship.

Grants were awarded to forty-two nonprofit organizations, including the , which will receive $1 million over two years to provide leadership development opportunities to girls and young women, with a special emphasis on Latin America, Africa, and the Arab world. Other recipients include the , the National Center for Disability Services and the , the , the , the , , the , and .

"Education and leadership development are central to economic empowerment," said UPS Foundation president Eduardo Martinez. "We are helping WAGGGS reach its network of more than ten million girls and young women in a hundred and forty-five countries across five regions of the world. Our partnership with WAGGGS has enriched the lives of thousands of girls and young women ensuring they are provided the resources to become leaders and advocates in their communities and beyond, spurring economic development globally."
