University of Wyoming Art Museum Receives $2.27 Million Gift

The in Laramie has announced a $2.27 million gift from an anonymous donor to in support of the contemporary art program at the .

The gift will endow the Susan B. Moldenhauer FUNd for Contemporary Art, which will support the museum's national and international contemporary art program, including exhibitions, commissions, publications, visiting artists and scholars, symposia, workshops, curatorial research, and travel. The fund is named for UW Art Museum director and chief curator Susan Moldenhauer, a personal friend of the donor. Moldenhauer, who joined the museum in 1991 as curator of programs and has served as its director since 2002, will retire in the fall. A practicing fine art photographer, Moldenhauer has been integral in the development of Touchstone Laramie, the Laramie Mural Project, and the Laramie Public Art Plan.
