in Austin, Texas, has announced December grants totaling more than $20 million to help meet growing healthcare and human services needs in central Texas.
The funding includes $5.2 million in capital grants to address infrastructure needs at nonprofit organizations facing increased demand. Recipients include , , the , , , , the , and the .
The foundation also awarded more than $15 million in grants to area nonprofits in support of preventative programs; for scholarships; to organizations serving underprivileged populations; and to groups serving the elderly and families dealing with mental health challenges.
"As our population grows, we are seeing an escalating demand for more healthcare-related services for our rapidly growing community," said St. David's Foundation CEO Earl Maxwell. "By partnering with organizations who are developing facilities and programs to address future healthcare needs, from mental health to homelessness to the needs of low-income families, we hope to anticipate future demands and provide targeted solutions."
