Rasmuson Foundation Awards $1 Million to Alaska Nonprofits

The Anchorage-based has announced second-quarter grants totaling more than $1 million to nonprofit organizations across Alaska.

Awarded through the foundation's , which provides up to $25,000 for capital projects, technology upgrades, program expansion, and creative works, the grants include $25,000 to the to purchase a vehicle for its mobile blood drive program in Anchorage; $19,816 to the to install commercial kitchen equipment and new computers at its child development department in Dillingham; $2,221 to the for technological upgrades; and $9,854 to for electrical upgrades and to install lift recliners.

The foundation also awarded $20,000 to the for the purchase of woodcarving tools; $16,000 to for the purchase of computer hardware for its classrooms and business office; $20,000 to the to purchase a van and trailer for its youth sports program; and $25,000 to to purchase refrigerated storage containers for four western Alaska communities that will use them to store fish for local foodbanks.
