The in New York City has named MARYAM ELAHI director of the International Women's Program. Elahi, founding director of the Human Rights Program at Trinity College, earlier served as advocacy director for the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe in the Washington, D.C., office of Amnesty International.

The in Philadelphia has appointed ALLEN GOMEZ executive director. Gomez, most recently vice president and regional corporate giving manager at Washington Mutual, previously held positions at the Edna McConnell Clark and William Penn foundations.

The has elected KURT L. SCHMOKE to its board. Schmoke, dean of the Howard University School of Law, earlier served as assistant director of the White House policy staff during the Carter administration and as mayor of Baltimore from 1987 to 1999.

The in Denver has named DANIEL L. RITCHIE as board chair. Ritchie currently serves as chancellor emeritus of the University of Denver and chairman and CEO of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

The in Washington, D.C., has elected DEBORAH RATNER SALZBERG and JIM SANDMAN to its board. Ratner Salzberg, president of Forest City Washington, Inc. and RMS Investment Corporation, was previously a trial attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Sandman is a senior partner in Arnold and Porter's toxic tort and product liability practice and serves as president of the District of Columbia Bar.
