The has announced the appointment of DAVE WILKINSON as director of the . Wilkinson previously served the White House as senior policy advisor for Social Finance and Innovation. Earlier, he served as executive director of City First Enterprises, a federally regulated nonprofit bank holding company; co-founded a community development bank in New Haven, Connecticut; served as executive director of Common Cause New Jersey; and was a co-founder of the City First Foundation. Wilkinson was selected by Next American City Magazine for its Next American Vanguard list, an annual "40 under 40" award honoring urban innovators. He also served as a Jane Addams Fellow at Indiana University's Lilly Family School on Philanthropy.
The has appointed DONNA SHALALA as its next president and CEO, the reports. Shalala, former secretary of Health and Human Services in the Clinton administrations, has served as president of the University of Miami since 2001 and is a longtime friend of Hillary Clinton, with whom she served for fifteen years on the board of the Children's Defense Fund. She is expected to join the foundation in June. Since the resignation of CEO Eric Braverman in January the foundation has been run on an interim basis by Maura Pally, a longtime aide to the Clintons.
The has announced the appointment of JUSTIN GUAY as a climate program officer in its Conservation and Science Program. Guay joins the foundation from the Sierra Club, where he has worked since 2009, most recently as associate director of its International Climate Program. Guay also has been involved in efforts to influence the negotiations of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and has worked internationally to encourage a shift in power production from fossil fuels to renewable energy. "Justin has both breadth and depth of experience on climate and energy issues, bringing a sophisticated understanding of climate mitigation strategies within the United States and internationally to his work," said Walt Reid, director of the foundation's Conservation and Science Program.
The has announced the planned departure of DEBORAH POPE, longtime executive director of Doris Duke's Shangri La estate in Hawaii, by the end of the year. During her tenure, Pope oversaw the transformation of the estate into a center of Islamic arts and culture. "I have had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of a true 'start up,' and I have relished every step of the way," said Pope. "It was quite visionary of Doris Duke to foresee the importance of her collection and home as a place for improving public understanding of Islamic arts and cultures and to ensure that purpose in her will."

In addition, Martin will serve as a loaned executive to the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, where he will assist in advancing real estate projects designed to revitalize downtown Flint. Martin comes to the foundation from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where he has worked in progressively senior roles since 2007.

Gabriel most recently worked as admissions managing director of diversity and strategy at Teach for America, where she served in several positions, including managing director of programs for Atlanta. Before that, she was a secondary school science teacher. She currently serves as president of the Westview Community Organization and sits on the advisory committee of the Atlanta Beltline Tax Allocation District.

The has announced the appointment of LEAH HAMILTON as director of education, effective May 4. Hamilton currently works at the Carnegie Corporation of New York as director of its national New Designs for K–16 Pathways program. Previously, she directed the New York City Department of Education's Office of Multiple Pathways to Graduation and was a Fellow in Entrepreneurial Leadership in Public Education at the Aspen Institute.
The has appointed DARIN McKEEVER as its first chief program and strategy officer, the reports. McKeever served for six years as a deputy director in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's global policy and advocacy division, and before that was a Reynolds Foundation Fellow for Social Entrepreneurship at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and an Echoing Green fellow. PAUL SHOEMAKER is stepping down as president of , reports. Shoemaker, who co-founded the Seattle nonprofit seventeen years ago, worked as a manager at Microsoft from 1991 to 1998. "I have a few ideas, but my goal is simply to find the role in life where I can have the most positive impact in this world."
The has announced that GAIL C. CHRISTOPHER, vice president for policy and senior advisor, has won Grantmakers in Health's Terrance Keenan Leadership Award in Health Philanthropy for 2015. Christopher joined the Kellogg Foundation in 2007 as vice president for program strategy and has been responsible at various points for its racial equity; food, health and well-being; community and civic engagement; and leadership portfolios. Previously, she served as vice president at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, where she led the Health Policy Institute, and as director of the Institute for Government Innovation at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Christopher currently authors a column for the Huffington Post and has been honored by the Congressional Black Caucus, the Society of Public Health Education, and the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs.
