CARL J. SCHRAMM has been named chairman of the U.S. Department of Commerce's . Schramm, president and CEO of the in Kansas City, Missouri, is an economist, entrepreneur, lawyer, and expert in healthcare finance, regulation, and insurance.

Dallas-based has elected KENNETH E. BENTSEN, JR. as board chair and CHERYL JERNIGAN as affiliate representative to the board. Bent sen, president and chief operating officer of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association, was formerly U.S. Representative for the 25th District of Texas and has served on the Komen board since 2005. Jernigan, a founding member of the Komen Kansas City Area Affiliate, is a community leader and breast health advocate.

The in Miami has appointed JOSE GARCIA-PEDROSA as president and CEO and DANIEL ARTY as board vice chair. Garcia-Pedrosa, who previously served as the foundation's chief operating officer, has over thirty years' experience in legal, government, and civic affairs. Arty, a certified public accountant at Arty, Cohn, and Feuer, L.C., was previously the foundation's president.

The in San Rafael, California, has named CINDY JOHANSON as chief operating officer, a new position. In other news, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has named DREW G. FAUST as president. The first woman elected to head the nation's oldest university, Faust is a historian and academic leader who has served since 2001 as the founding dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Before joining the Harvard faculty, she served for twenty-five years on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania.
