PACE Awards Equipment Valued at $283 Million to Four Mexican Universities

Partners for the Advancement of CAD/CAM/CAE Education (PACE) has announced a donation of CAD/CAM/CAE equipment valued at $283.6 million to four Mexican universities.

The donation from PACE, a corporate education alliance comprised of General Motors, Sun Microsystems, Electronic Data Systems, and software maker UGS, was disbursed among four universities: the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico($32,005,014) the Universidad Iberoamericana ($31,780,514), the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Estado de Mexico ($116,646,040), and the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey ($103,173,050).

"Because of the opportunity to learn and train on this equipment, students from these institutions will be highly sought after when they graduate," said GM de Mexico engineering director Bill Beaumont. "We will certainly be looking to these four universities to expand our engineering expertise here in Mexico."
