NFWF Awards $1.58 Million to Support Sustainable Fisheries

The has announced fifteen grants totaling $1.58 million in support of sustainable fisheries in the United States.

Launched in 2010, NFWF's aims to sustain fishermen and fisheries while at the same time rebuilding fish stocks. To be matched by more than $1.3 million in additional support from grantees, the latest grants awarded through the fund will aid in the design and implementation of projects that provide technical and practical support for fishing communities across the country. The Fisheries Innovation Fund is supported by the , the , and the .

"In its fifth round, the Fisheries Innovation Fund grants continue to foster innovative ideas and technologies that promote sustainable fisheries and allow communities to flourish," said NFWF executive director and CEO Jeff Trandahl. "Throughout the nation, the fifteen grants announced today will contribute to improved well-being of the fishermen and the places they call home."
