New York University Law School Receives $20 Million Gift

has announced an unrestricted $20 million gift from alumnus Stephen M. Ross ('66, LMM) to its .

The gift, most of it in the form of a bequest, is the largest ever received by the law school. Ross, the chairman and founder of the and owner of the , received his Master of Laws in Taxation from NYU Law in 1966 and went on to a career in law and business.

"Steve has credited his experience at NYU Law as being critical to his success, and it is enormously gratifying that he is giving back this generously, so that others may similarly benefit," said law school dean Trevor Morrison. "Our current fundraising is focused on increasing available financial support for students, and this extraordinary gift will contribute greatly to that effort."
