Now in its fourth year, the annual program honors grantmaking organizations that have shown effectiveness, leadership, and innovation in addressing some of the nation's most difficult challenges.
Awards were made in four categories: large private foundations, small/midsize private foundations, community/public foundations, and corporate foundations. Selected from a pool of organizations nominated by the general public and narrowed by NCRP, the 2016 award winners are the (large private foundation); the (small/midsize private foundation); the (community/public foundation); and the (corporate foundation).
"This year's awardees embody smart philanthropy by empowering the people they serve to create real change," said NCRP field director Jeanné Isler. "They're doing important work to leverage their dollars to tackle our society's toughest problems, making visible strides in health, the environment, LGBTQ rights and more."
