Meyer Memorial Trust Awards $3.1 Million to Oregon Nonprofits

The in Portland, Oregon, has announced that it awarded grants totaling $3.1 million in the final two months of 2017 to nonprofit organizations working to create and support vibrant, equitable communities in the state.

The grants include $225,000 to the to help build the capacity of and financial support for community-based organizations working to advance full equality for LGBTQ people in the state; $25,000 to and $20,000 to the in support of disaster relief, recovery, and preparedness planning in communities affected by the Eagle Creek and Chetco Bar fires; and $12,450 to to expand services for immigrants living in Canby who need legal information and support services related to their residency status.

The foundation also awarded multiyear grants totaling more than $922,000 in support of projects working at the intersection of affordable housing and supportive services; grants totaling $482,487 to the , , and for restoration projects that will support a healthier Willamette River; and a total of $615,386 to the , , the , , and the in support of their current seasons and to enable them to implement diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
