Lilly Endowment Awards $3.4 Million for Teacher Recruitment, Training

Indianapolis-based has announced a two-year, $3.42 million grant from the to recruit and train teachers to work in the city's high-need schools.

To that end, Mind Trust will re-grant $2 million to the Indianapolis office of ; $1.02 million to (formerly known as the New Teacher Project) to train mid-career professionals in other fields to become classroom teachers; and $400,000 to the to recruit and train, in partnership with , up to ten teachers a year to become public school administrators.

With the latest grant, the endowment has committed more than $14 million to Mind Trust in support of education reform efforts.
