The gift, the largest ever received by the hospital, will fund an endowment for the to ensure that services remain available to people in northeast Nebraska, said Faith Regional CEO Bob Driewer. Established in 1998, the center was named in memory of Carson's parents, and its Web site credits him with making the largest financial donation to the initial building fund.
was born in Corning, Iowa, but moved to Norfolk when he was eight and graduated from high school there. Known as the king of late-night television, he died in January at age 79.
