The San Francisco-based has announced the appointment of Thomas L. Harris as chief administrative officer and director of finance. Mr. Harris will be responsible for all administrative and financial operations of the foundation.
Harris comes to the Irvine Foundation from Gap, Inc., where he was a senior executive since 1994 and served most recently as vice president of finance and taxes. His professional experience includes nearly two decades in executive positions in financial and tax management and research and planning with such companies as Deloitte & Touche, Pacific Telesis Group, Dillingham Construction Company, Kaiser Aluminum, and Arthur Anderson.
Mr. Harris serves as chairman of the board of directors of Project Open Hand, an organization that provides meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, seniors, and the critically ill. In addition, he sits on the boards of directors of Glide United Methodist Church and the Oakland Zoo. Mr. Harris will assume his duties at the foundation in September.
