The Gulf Coast Community Foundation in Venice, Florida, has announced fourth-quarter grants totaling more than $2.7 million.
Awards included $173,415 in community grants of up to $10,000 in support of nonprofits in the region. The majority of grants, however, were awarded from donor-advised funds administered by the foundation and through the foundation's community grants program, which is supported by unrestricted and field-of-interest funds. The foundation also awarded $26,623 in grants through its GulfCoastGives site, which funds "urgent" projects at local charities and is supported primarily by online contributions.
