Georgetown University Receives $10 Million for Public Policy Center

has announced a $10 million gift from Patricia and Jon M. Baker to establish the at the .

The new center aims to shape innovative policy solutions by providing an environment in which to practice and observe intelligent, good-faith discourse on important global policy issues. Housed at the planned Institute of Politics and Public Service, the center will host the Baker Forum, an annual gathering of government, business, nonprofit, and academic leaders from across the globe interested in exploring complex policy issues.

Jon M. Baker is the founder, chair, and CEO of , a global life insurance broker. A 1964 alumnus of Georgetown, Baker is a former member of the Georgetown board of regents and a 1991 recipient of the , the highest university honor bestowed on alumni.
