The , a supporting organization of the , has awarded fifty-four grants totaling more than $4.7 million to local nonprofit agencies and organizations, Tulsa World reports.
Nearly $3.7 million of the total was directed to human services agencies, with the rest going to community health organizations. Recipients include , which was awarded $460,000 in support of its behavioral health care and other services; , which will receive $300,000 to provide comprehensive services to women, men, and children affected by domestic and sexual violence; and the , which was awarded $225,000.
"These grants address the serious, everyday needs of individuals in our community," GKFF executive director Ken Levit told Tulsa World. "The organizations GKFF supports through this project play a vital role in meeting the needs of thousands of Tulsa families. This type of safety-net support is critical now more than ever."
Over the past decade, the foundation has awarded a total of more than $67 million in safety-net grants.
