George Gund Foundation Awards $10.5 Million in Grants

The has announced seventy-seven grants totaling $10.5 million to Cleveland-area nonprofit organizations.

The grants include $2 million over five years to the in support of the museum’s efforts to transform its University Circle campus so as to better connect visitors to science and nature and encourage them to advocate for solutions to current and emerging environmental and scientific challenges.

Other grants include $75,000 to the in support of a yearlong commemoration of the legacy of former Mayor Carl B. Stokes (1968-1971) and Congressman Louis Stokes (1969-1999); more than $2 million to the to assist in the planning, launch, and start-up of twelve schools; $60,000 to the Cleveland office of , a crowdfunding platform that supports small neighborhood projects designed to improve the quality of life in city neighborhoods; $56,000 to for operating expenses and other support; and $30,000 to in support of the Design Diversity Index project, which works to increase the number of people of color working in design fields.
