Duke Endowment Awards $21 Million in Grants

The has announced thirty-six grants totaling $21 million to health organizations in North and South Carolina.

Recipients include in Greenville, North Carolina, which was awarded $700,000 to expand its services for those with advanced heart disease; in Charlotte, which was awarded $630,000 to develop evidence-based strategies aimed at reducing the use of opioids in orthopedic surgery; and the , which will receive $575,000 to participate in statewide interventions aimed at addressing infant mortality and sub-par health outcomes in the state.

Other grants include $375,000 to in Jefferson, North Carolina, to implement a community paramedicine program in Ashe County; and $335,000 to the in Charleston in support of its efforts to reduce racial disparities in kidney transplantation access.
