Duke Endowment Awards $18.2 Million to Carolina Organizations

The in Charlotte, North Carolina, has announced grants totaling $18.2 million to thirty-five organizations in the Carolinas.

The grants were awarded through the foundation's , which focuses on improving the quality and delivery of health care in the region, improving access to care, and enhancing prevention for improved population health.

Recipients include the in Asheville, which was awarded $1.2 million to establish a comprehensive mental health program in western North Carolina; the , which will receive $600,000 to establish a patient navigation program and improve cancer outcomes in North Carolina; , which was awarded $498,000 to implement a telemedicine program for diabetic patients in South Carolina; and the , which will receive $270,000 to expand a program to reduce preterm births in the state.
