Dell Foundation Issues $25 Million Challenge to Seton Healthcare

The has announced a $25 million challenge grant to toward construction of a new teaching hospital.

The foundation will provide a one-to-one match, up to $25 million, to help the raise $50 million for a 211-bed hospital under construction in downtown Austin. To be known as the Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas when it opens in 2017, the new teaching hospital also will serve as a Level 1 trauma center for adults. The grant comes two years after the Dell family foundation announced a $50 million grant to help build the University of Texas’ , whose research facilities, classroom buildings, and faculty offices surround the new hospital.
