The Austin-based has announced a $36 million commitment in support of Hurricane Harvey relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts.
The largest donation to date for relief and recovery efforts will launch the , with the goal of raising more than $100 million for the long-term recovery and rebuilding of flooded communities in the state. To be housed at the , the fund will partner with other funders and businesses to provide support in four areas — health and housing, schools and child care, workforce and transportation, and providing capital to small businesses. To date, Verizon and Toyota have pledged $10 million and $3 million, respectively, to the fund, while foundation partners include the , , , , , and foundations. The OneStar and Dell foundations will cover all administrative costs for the fund so that 100 percent of donations are directed to relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts.

And we know that it will take all of us working together, over the long term, to rebuild our Texas communities," said Michael Dell, a Houston native and founder of the largest computer maker in the world. "As we announce the launch of the Rebuild Texas Fund, we know it is imperative to rally support from companies, community leaders, and individuals to work alongside state and federal officials to provide an additional source of funding and ideas for recovery and rebuilding."
"We're heartbroken. Michael and I are both from Texas, and the street he grew up on is under water now," said Susan Dell. "We want everyone to know that we are in this for the long haul to support families and communities — our neighbors in need."
