Conrad N. Hilton Fund for Sisters Receives 2010 Charles Carroll Award

The Los Angeles-based Fund for Sisters was established in 1986 by the , whose founder, hotelier Conrad Hilton, left his fortune to help the world's most disadvantaged and vulnerable people. To date, the fund has awarded grants totaling $75 million to support the educational, health, and social service ministries of sisters in one hundred and thirty countries.

Named after Charles Carroll, the lone Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence and a lifelong champion of religious freedom, the Carroll Award is presented to a philanthropic organization that has had exceptional impact on the vitality of Catholic charitable ministry and work. The Fund for Sisters is the eleventh recipient of the award since its inception nearly thirty years ago.
