Coca-Cola Company, Foundation Award $106 Million in 2016

The and have announced that together they awarded grants totaling $106 million to more than two hundred and thirty organizations in over two hundred countries and territories in 2016.

The vast majority of the grants (97 percent) were focused on the company's priority areas of women, water, and community well-being. Of the total, the foundation contributed $72 million, including $38 million in support of education, youth development, HIV/AIDS, arts and culture, and humanitarian/disaster relief; $27 million for water and environmental initiatives; and $7 million in support of women's empowerment initiatives. The remaining $34 million comprised cash grants and in-kind donations in support of community events and programs around the world. The total dollar amount is equivalent to 1.2 percent of the company's 2016 operating income.
