Cleveland Foundation Awards $4.7 Million in Grants

The has announced grants totaling $4.7 million in support of a range of programs and initiatives in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga counties.

The May 2016 grants include $45,000 to in support of virtual classes and youth and adult programming; $25,000 to to help fund ADA-accessible outdoor fitness equipment for , which also will feature a trail, play areas, commemorative plaques, and a reflection center honoring the victims of the 2012 Chardon High School shooting; $55,000 to in support of community engagement programming for its 2016-17 season; and $70,000 to  to expand its community-engagement efforts, develop workforce training and placement programs, and create a strategic plan for the future.

Additional grant recipients include the , which was awarded $10,000 to expand its music and memory program for seniors with dementia; the , which will receive $20,100 to support the development of new senior living facilities based on the “small house” model for seniors with dementia in Lake and Geauga counties; and the , which was awarded $45,000 in support of the Harbor Lights public art installation, including the installation this summer of thirty LED flood lights on two concrete silos at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River.
