Children's Hospital Los Angeles Receives $3 Million for NICCU

has announced a $3 million gift from the in support of its neonatal critical care unit.

The gift will support research and quality medical care for neonates as well as training for fellows who learn to care for critically ill newborns in the hospital's newborn and infant critical care unit. The state-of-the-art fifty-eight-bed NICCU hosts a team of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists — cardiologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, hematologists, and geneticists — as well as ancillary services across the full range of neonatal health issues. In recognition of the gift, the unit will be named the .

Steven Cohen is chairman and CEO of , an investment firm based in Stamford, Connecticut. Alexandra Cohen serves as president of the Cohen Foundation.
