Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Announces Community Fund Grant Recipients

The  has announced a first round of grants awarded through its .

Launched in October, the fund supports organizations working to address challenges in the Bay Area communities of Belle Haven, East Palo Alto, North Fair Oaks, and Redwood City, with a focus on education, homelessness, housing, immigration, transportation, and workforce development. In this initial funding round, grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 were awarded to forty-one organizations, including the , which works to remove barriers to learning through consultations with and treatment for children with ADHD, learning differences, anxiety and depression, and autism; , a community organization committed to increasing educational and employment opportunities and ensuring access to quality-of-life services in underserved communities; and , which works to make renewable energy technology and job training accessible in underserved communities.

Other recipients include , which works to help homeless and at-risk individuals become healthy, employed, and housed; and  (SIREN), which works to empower low-income immigrants and refugees through community education and organizing, leadership development,  advocacy efforts, and legal services.

"The CZI Community Fund is one way we're working towards building a more fair and inclusive world, starting here at home," Priscilla Chan wrote in a  post. "There's still plenty of work to do, but we're excited to be taking the next step toward creating the community all Bay Area residents deserve."
