in Burlington, Vermont, has announced a four-year, $1 million grant from Bob and Christine Stiller in support of the , which works to offset childcare costs for Champlain College students who are single parents.
Awarded through the , the funds will support the program's efforts to help students who are single parents attend school full-time and pursue a career-focused curriculum by providing them with a variety of case-management services. The Stillers, through their family foundation, also have committed to match every donation of $725 received by June 30, 2015, with the aim of providing new computers for participants in the program.
"[This program] is only one of eleven such programs across the country offering single parents a support system covering students academically, financially, and personally," said the program's director, Carol Moran-Brown. "The Champlain College Single Parents Program has changed many lives, and with continued support with gifts like this from the Stiller Family Foundation, it will do so for many years to come."
