The has announced a $3 million grant from the in support of the university's athletic program.
The gift will be used to expand BSU's football complex, create an academic center within the complex, and continue the Albertson Foundation's campaign in conjunction with Boise State athletics. Launched in 2009, the campaign seeks to boost postsecondary enrollment and training opportunities in Idaho.
"Our goal is to increase the percentage of Idahoans graduating with quality degrees and certificates from 34 percent to 60 percent by 2018," said Albertson Foundation executive director Jamie MacMillan. To that end, BSU student-athletes will work to encourage Idaho youth to stay in school and graduate.
"The 'Go On' campaign has been extremely successful in building awareness for the importance of educational attainment," said Boise State president Bob Kustra. "This partnership signals a further commitment to the goal and ultimately the well-being of our state and its citizens. Boise State University is proud to be involved."
