Following passage of new tax legislation by Congress, aerospace giant has announced commitments totaling $300 million in support of education, veterans and military personnel, and workforce development.
The commitments include $100 million for employee gift-match programs and investments in Boeing's philanthropic focus areas of education and veterans and military personnel; $100 million for workforce development in the form of training, education, and other approaches designed to meet the rapidly growing demand for skilled workers; and $100 million for "workplace of the future" facilities and infrastructure enhancements designed to benefit Boeing employees.
"On behalf of all our stakeholders, we applaud and thank Congress and the administration for their leadership in seizing this opportunity to unleash economic energy in the United States," said Boeing chair, president, and CEO Dennis Muilenburg. "It's the single-most important thing we can do to drive innovation, support quality jobs, and accelerate capital investment in our country."
