has announced a $10 million gift from Bill and Sue Gross to expand and enhance emergency-room services in the California coastal community.
The gift from the founder of global investment management firm and his wife will enable the hospital, part of the regional network, to implement a comprehensive plan that includes new imaging technologies, expanded and enhanced ER facilities, and the provision of emergency support services for years to come.
In addition to technology upgrades, the hospital’s emergency department — the only emergency care facility in the area — will be adapted to accommodate higher volumes of patients with varying degrees of illness and injury. In recognition of the gift, the Laguna Beach Emergency Department will be renamed the Sue and Bill Gross Emergency Department at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach.
