Barr Foundation Awards $18.6 Million in Grants

The in Boston has announced third-quarter grants totaling $18.6 million in the areas of arts and creativity, climate, education, and sector effectiveness.

In addition to grants totaling $7.2 million announced earlier in the quarter, the foundation awarded thirty-five grants totaling nearly $6 million through its program, including $200,000 to creative placemaking organization in support of the second in Lynn, Massachusetts. The foundation also awarded seventeen grants totaling $10.5 million through its program, including $1 million to in support of the organization's clean energy and climate mitigation work with regional and national business leaders, and $2.4 million to the in support of its efforts to advance climate-smart policies and practices in New England.

In addition, the foundation awarded sixteen grants totaling $4.4 million through its program, including grants of $150,000 to in Connecticut, in Massachusetts, the in New Hampshire, in Maine, and in Massachusetts.

And in support of , the foundation awarded three grants totaling $580,000, including a grant of $175,000 to in support of that organization's research, convenings, and communications efforts, and a grant of $225,000 to , which works to maximize investment in the nonprofit workforce.
