2015 U.S. Gates Cambridge Scholars Announced

The UK-based has announced the 2015 class of U.S. Gates Cambridge Scholars.

Representing thirty-eight colleges and universities in Canada and the United States, the forty young men and women from the United States will use their scholarships to pursue graduate studies at Cambridge University. An additional fifty-five scholars from other countries will be announced later this year. Established in 2001 with a $210 million endowment gift from the , the program selects recipients based on their academic ability and potential for leadership.

Seven institutions — in Maine, and in New Jersey, in Ohio, and in Louisiana, and the — are represented for the first time. Twenty-five of the scholarship recipients are women, a record for the program.
