An interactive toolkit from the Integrating Technology in Early Literacy (InTEL) project at the and the at provides a snapshot of initiatives across the United States that use technology to connect with vulnerable families and improve educational outcomes. offers an or programs, with profiles that include program description and affiliation, ages served, target population, languages, hardware and software used, website, and impact evaluation. The 2018 map highlights forty programs and provides ratings by evidence of impact (strong, promising, developing, or no evidence). Among other things, research found that the most popular devices used by programs included tablets, smartphones, and laptop or desktop computers; that sixteen programs incorporated projectors connected to digital devices; and that thirteen used television, while twelve used DVD or video cassettes.
